Stepping Out

We've been all over town. Headed to Roseville for Cheesecake Factory last Friday night, had a picnic at the duck park in between sessions of Conference on Sunday, and after Conference took an "adventure" drive up to the mountains.

Sunday Snapshots

Sundays have been extra long since we moved here to Northern California. We miss family dinners, visiting with the siblings, and watching the cousins run around together. Back in AZ, every now and then we would take little scenic drives to kill time before our family get togethers. We drove through the desert, up to the moutons after a first snow, etc. Since the move, these scenic drives are pretty regular and have taken the name of "adventure drives." We've seen lots of pretty areas so far and today was no different. After church, naps and lunch, we went on a little scenic drive and found some fun fields. We snuck in through the barb wire and laid out a blanket and just watched kurt run free and Clark catch grasshoppers. We were lucky enough to get a few little snapshots .

He is absolutely adorable and we love him to pieces. It kills me that he refuses to cuddle, hug, give kisses or be held. He is constantly on the move and always grunting. He loves to hide when he hears anyone coming, he loves to play cars, he loves to wrestle clark, he loves to throw away my 3 month supply without me knowing, he loves to read books, he loves his blankie, he loves when daddy comes home, he has already crawled out of his crib, he opens door knobs, he loves to throw food across the room, he loves all things healthy, he could live off frozen gogurts and corn, he refuses to drink milk from a sippy, he loves to keep up with Clark and his friends, he does not like to sit in shopping carts, he swings one arm as he struts around the house, he loves to climb up on tables to bang on computers and laptops, he loves to play with our iPhones, he loves to be outside, he pretty much runs the show around here. I can't wait for the day this boy decides to cuddle with me....Ill continue to try every day all day,,,one of these days it's bound to take. He is a sweet little boy, but is all boy and on the move all. day. long!

Kurt often reminds me of an animal...in the best way possible, but on this particular day after he covered himself in chocolate pudding, it was the character from teen wolf.

Soccer game # 2

Ever since the train ride in Sacramento 2 weeks ago with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson, it has been loco locomotives over here! Im talking thomas the train shows in the car (which are extremely painful for any adult or child over age 4), drawing trains, reading train books, setting up wood tracks, setting up the plastic tracks, lining up trains, crashing trains, singing "go go Thomas", etc. At least Clark now has Kurt to play with and Im kinda off the hook once I'm done setting up all the tracks and buildings. If you've seen the movies...you know, the ones where the trains' mouths don't move when they talk and its all filmed on some crazy guys elaborate train track collection...you'll appreciate Clark's recent quotes:
"Mom, Im so cross with you"
While going down a slope on his bike "Cinders and ashes!"

These trains and tracks of ours are worth their weight in GOLD at this house! Choo choo

We had so much fun having Robs parents here with us for a few days and we miss them already!!!
