wrapping up summer

So, I think the swimming season is coming to an end. Clark has loved his little play pool in the back, but i think it is time to put it away. He wasn't too big into swimming this summer in the big pool. I think I scared him at his first swimming lesson when I dunked him under. Next year, will be his year. Moving on with the pictures, we've kept busy with some fun play dates. Clark loves his buddies and they are starting to all play better and get the hang of the whole sharing concept. It's been so nice having neighbors to trade off babysitting for our dr. apts. Apt.s this time around are a lot different. Now, I have to arrange someone to watch Clark each time and I go all alone, which really isn't a big deal at all, but last time Rob was able to go to every appointment with me. Back to Clark, Rob was watching Clark and one of his buddies in the nursery during part of stake conference last week and they were catching, kicking, tossing, etc balls and Rob decided that Clark needed some work in the whole sports area. Monday night, Rob marched right down to Walmart after work and bought Clark a basketball hoop, basketball, soccerball, and football. It has been pretty hard core over here lately! Now, I have mentioned Clark's unhealthy obsession with trains a few times on the blog, so you can see why he is going to be a train conductor for Halloween. I found the perfect little costume online and Clark could hardly wait to get it on when it arrived in the mail, in fact we couldn't get him to take it off!!! We were able to get him to take off the handkerchief, but that was about it. He wore it all night and insisted in going on his bike aka Train ride in full dress. I swear the kid cracks me up!!! Halloween is going to be so fun for him this year...I can't wait!

Clark in action at Nursery

I stole these pictures off one of Clark's nursery teachers blogs. Rob and I always say how we would love to be a fly on the wall in nursery on Sundays to see Clark in action. He loves nursery...but it did take about 2 months in the beginning for him to get used to the idea of being dropped off. I love singing nursery songs with him at home and am amazed how well he can remember all of the words. He also really loves snack time, so I hear. He is always the first one to ask for seconds and thirds! Clark is so lucky to have great nursery leaders!

ps..is it just me or is having a private blog so BORING! I have no motivation to post b/c i know no one is looking anymore.

weekend Adventures

Last week Rob and Clark had their first fishing trip. Although unsuccessful, they had fun lounging and eating treats...until Clark was bit by ants! Clark now has a phobia of ants and scans the sidewalk before he takes any steps forward. Rob and Clark woke me up Monday morning had said they had an adventure planned. So, we loaded in the car and drove down to Tucson to Kartchner Caverns. Because Rob is so punctual, we arrived almost 2 hours early before our tour group time. Luckily Clark didn't mind climbing around the plastic cave in the lobby. The wait was well worth it for Clark when he realized we got to ride a little train like tram to the entrance of the caves. Our tour guide lady made it very clear to us that she didn't like taking kids on the tour b/c they get scared and cry and also touch the cave which is a big no no.There was a part when she told everyone to be quiet so we could hear the water dripping from the stalactites and of course Clark was rambling about the nice dragons we told him lived in the cave and she turned to him and said, "shhhh" I am so sure, the kid is 2...relax! The caves were really cool. After the tour I was so tempted to go up to the lady and say, "I thought we should probably tell you that our son had is arm extended grazing the walls of the cave the whole way through. Oh, ya and the sucker we snuck in fell out of his mouth and landed in that muddy area that no one has touched since the discoverers were there. so sorry." I guess if you touch anything, you have to tell her so she can put a marker on it to signal that it need cleaning. All in all, it was really cool and we enjoyed it! After the caves, we headed over to the famous city of Tombstone, home of Doc Holiday and Mr. Erp. If you haven't seen the movie Tombstone, you should b/c it's actually pretty good...see the movie and skip out on the actual city. Anyway, we love our weekends with Rob. Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day.
