1st Pair of Shoes

This weekend I was actually able to get out and go shopping! I found that it was easier and more fun to shop for Clark than it was to shop for me! I about DIED when I found these little polo shoes...his cute little shorts were another good find. I came right home and had him try on his new little outfit. I actually kept him in his shoes all day long b/c I got the biggest kick every time I looked at them on him. Anyway, so here is my cute little boy in his cute little shoes.

Poor Clark

What a week! This past weekend, Clark had been fussier than normal. He wasn't really eating, wouldn't sleep from 7pm-3:30 am, and during our wonderful nights, would scream bloody murder for hours on and off. I could tell something wasn't right, so I finally took him into the Dr. office. Sure enough, he has acid reflux! I felt so bad for the poor guy that I actually started crying on the way to get his perscription filled ( I think my hormones are still out of wack!) It is just the sadest thing in the world b/c when he is crying, I can tell he is in so much pain and there's nothing I can do for him. We got him some medicine, but I haven't noticed a huge difference...yet. To make matters worse, b/c of his acid reflux his stomach is much more acidic so he has the WORST diaper rash!! I have been putting stuff on him since day 1 and change him frequently, so I am clueless as to how he ever got a diaper rash in the first place! Oh, sad times at the Nelson home! Anyway, my fingers are crossed that this whole problem gets resloved quickly b/c I can't stand seeing him so uncomfortable. He is such a brave little guy...I just wish I could do something!

Clark is 1 Month Today!

Baby Clark

OUR NEW ADDITION!

After much anticipation, Clark Robert Nelson finally arrived on Friday, April 27, at 7:09 pm! He weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 21 inches. Rob and I went in at 5:00am on Friday for a scheduled delivery. Everything seemed too easy-I got my epidural before I even felt one painful contraction. The whole day I sat in the hospital bed quite content with extremely numb legs, but the numbness, unfortunately, didn't last the whole delivery!! During the last half hour of pushing, my epidural ran out and the nurse never replaced it! I was feeling a lot of pain, but was afraid to complain because I thought I was still going strong with my epidural. I was thinking to myself, "man, what is it like for people who don't get the epidural? They're insane!" Finally, when it came time for the stitching ( I hope I'm not being too informative) I let my doctor know that I was no longer feeling numb and the nurse said, "Oh ya, your epidural is long gone." Anyway, so other than a natural delivery, everything was smooth sailing and we are so grateful for a healthy baby boy!!! He is SO precious and we just can't get enough of him!!
